Cottages in the Lake District
A truly enchanting place, the Lake District is a special spot for a self catering holiday in the UK. The beauty of the National Park is breath-taking, from the mountains and waterfalls, to the glorious fells and forests, and of course, the beautiful lakes, including Lake Windermere and Lake Buttermere. Made for outdoor activities, you’re sure to spend blissful days walking, hiking, cycling, wild swimming, kayaking and stargazing, and you’ll find many idyllic towns and villages to explore, too, including Grasmere, Ambleside and Keswick, with their fantastic selection of cafés, restaurants (many of which boast Michelin stars), pubs and independent shops.Read more
If you’re interested in literary history, you’ll love exploring the Lakes, where you can visit the homes of William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage and Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top, and there’s plenty of museums and galleries to visit too; The Pencil Museum in Keswick, The Armitt Museum and Beatrix Potter Gallery in Ambleside, to name just a few. Whether you’re visiting the Lakes for a short break or a week-long stay, you’re sure to fall in love with this magical part of the world.

We’ve been raising the standards of self catering holidays since 1977.
Our family ethos
Tony and Clare Tregoning started the business back in 1977 and their dedication to quality and excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Tony is sadly no longer with us, but we still adhere to their original ethos of finding holiday homes we would like to stay in and have slowly grown the company to find the best picks of properties across the counties. Plus Clare still drops in to keep us on our toes.
As an independent, family-run company, we wouldn’t expect you to stay anywhere we wouldn’t want to stay ourselves. And we’re pretty picky. We want you to walk into your handpicked holiday home and say ‘wow’, sit back and relax.
